WHO ARE PICK LEADERS?

Pick Leaders help Food Forward fight hunger and food waste by harvesting local fruit trees once a month. 100% of what’s picked gets donated to nearby hunger relief agencies. We work with your schedule, and you can choose to lead teams of volunteers or harvest trees on your own. Pick Leaders are a vital part of Food Forward’s work to harvest food, fight hunger, and build community. We’d love to have you as part of our fruity community!

[Food Forward’s work] is the perfect combination of everything I wanted to do: give back to the community, help with food waste, and be outdoors.” – Stephanie

Learning how much food waste is occurring and seeing how directly the work goes to good got me hooked…I really enjoy the large harvests where a group of strangers can instantly band together to harvest thousands of pounds of fruit to help those in need.” – Mike

“It has been a great way to get to know this area and connect with the community…I’ve learned more about the local fruit trees and their growing seasons, which has helped me to gain a greater appreciation of where I live.” – Annette

The volunteer experience at a harvest is always an opportunity to influence people to continue to make an impact. Everyone shares stories, learns from each other, and grows from being a part of something greater than themselves. We have fun while making a difference!” – Rebecca
