Join us on November 11, 2018!
Agricultural abundance is the legacy of Southern California, and it’s still what makes Food Forward‘s work possible today. That’s especially true in Ventura County, where our organization has flourished over the past 6 years, redistributing over 1 million pounds of surplus produce across the county thanks to our fruity volunteers, donors, and supporters.
Where better to celebrate our collective achievements than at the Agriculture Museum?
Food Forward’s 3rd Annual Ventura County Branch Out
November 11, 2018 from 1 to 4 PM
Museum of Ventura County Agriculture Museum in Santa Paula
Free Admission (All Ages) with Open Bar (21+)
The museum and gardens will be open for your exploration throughout the Branch Out, and there’ll be live music from local favorite Ted Lennon. Our pals at Leashless Brewing and Topa Topa are providing the beer, and Cowboy John’s Smoken’ BBQ will also be on site with BBQ available for purchase. Plus, you’ll have the opportunity to win raffle prizes from generous partners throughout the county. More about Branch Out:
The Branch Out began as a an event to “branch out” throughout Ventura County to grow deeper relationships with our farmers, property owners, volunteers, and agency partners, and to celebrate the work of Food Forward while inspiring others to join us.
The first year’s event was hosted by Ventura Spirits, a local distillery that makes hand-crafted beverages from local and recovered produce. Leashless Brewery, a fully certified organic brewery, hosted the second Branch Out for an evening of education, fun, and festivities as we celebrated recovering 1 million pounds of fresh produce in Ventura County since 2010.
This year we are excited that the Santa Paula Agricultural Museum will host us. The Museum is located in the old “food depot” historically used by farmers around the area to store farm products that would be shipped via adjacent rail lines to all parts of California.
