Find us at the Food Bowl!
Find Food Forward at the Los Angeles Times Food Bowl this May! This month-long festival celebrates L.A.’s dynamic and influential food scene while promoting awareness about food waste and hunger, and we’re proud to be a marquee non-profit partner for the second year in a row.
Let’s gear up for a month of good eats — and good deeds — across Los Angeles!
Harvest Grapefruits for Good at Historic Orcutt Ranch (May 12 | FREE)
Get hands-on in the fight to end hunger and food waste. We’ll harvest thousands of exquisite oro blanco grapefruits from the historic groves of West Hill’s Orcutt Ranch and donate them to some of Food Forward’s many hunger-relief partners across the region. This volunteer opportunity is family-friendly, free, and open to all.
Warm this Bowl with Chef Minh Phan (May 19 | $225)
Chef Minh Phan (Porridge + Puffs) and Food Forward invite you to an urban-foraged feast designed to delight the palate and challenge the intellect. Phan will guide a conversation about the value of local and reclaimed food, provide a hands-on knife-skills lesson, and oversee a multicourse meal crafted from locally foraged produce, with plenty of libations and surprises galore. Private east-side location to be released upon ticket purchase.
Night Market (May 20 | FREE)
The Night Market is the soul of the Food Bowl! This bustling outdoor affair in Downtown L.A.’s Grand Park features over 50 restaurants. Stop by on Sunday, May 20 from 3 to 11 PM to chat with Food Forward, test your food waste knowledge, and score some fruity swag. Plus: LA’s top pastry chefs are holding a bake sale until 7PM, and $1 from each admission benefits Food Forward!
