Fruitstock 2011 Breaks 350,000 Pounds Harvested for Hungry

2011 is off to a great start with over 11,500 pounds harvested in one weekend at Fruitstock! This puts our total harvest to date at over 350,000 pounds, all of which is donated to hungry people in Southern California. For this years Fruitstock we partnered with Santa Barbara gleaning group, Backyard Bounty, and rallied over 70 volunteers for two days of picturesque picking in Santa Barbara mandarin groves. We lucked out with temperatures in the high 70’s and clear skies, and after the pick volunteers took the opportunity to go swimming in the ocean, wild life watching and wine tasting.

Thanks to Backyard Bounty, SOVA, MEND and all of our adventurous volunteers who made the trip up to Santa Barbara from L.A. Also, thanks to volunteer Amy Calcote, who took the photos posted below!
