Gettin Down With Citrus in Downey

Over a dozen new and veteran FF volunteers from across the city came together in Downey this past weekend for a fine harvest of nearly 1700 lbs of fresh Valencias. Even with a bit of rain, we were not deterred from harvesting the fruit off these 60+ year old trees.

Thanks to homeowner Duane and all the folks who came down worked their butts off, got nice n juicy with us, pulling down an impressive total for the day.

For those of you who still have not contributed to out PLUM FDN MATCH CHALLENGE we hope you will take a moment and drop FF a few of your hard earned buckaroos so we might meet the $5000 challenge and get ourselves the FRUIT MOBILE we have long salivated over…here’s the link-
