A Harvesting Weekend to Remember

FF volunteers harvested over 2000 lbs of free fresh fruits and veggies for LA’s hungry this weekend..an amazing feat in itself, but when you factor in the over dozen new volunteers, new varietals of fruits and veggies we gleaned, new pick locations, and interview we had on Good Food (temp link – we’ll have interview on press page soon: http://www.kcrw.com/etc/programs/gf/gf091017the_green_fairy_port) – it was a pretty incredible weekend all around.  Big thanks go out to our pick leaders Erica and Marie – and to Luke of MEND for helping further our partnership with Jeff at Pierce College.  We hear due to good weather and abundant crops, FF may be back there soon 🙂

We have some great projects, picks and events in the hopper an hope to making some cool announcements soon.  We wanted to thank the volunteers that headed out to our tour of MEND over a week ago – we know some of you got messed up from the traffic, and are sorry for that, but we hope to do another volunteer meet n greet before the year is out.  In the meantime, thanks for all the ongoing support, new faces and offers of help…Look forward to seeing you at a pick soon.
