Yes, it is a summer of nostalgia – but why live in the past when you can create your own events to remember…

We are pleased to announce that in partnership with Backyard Bounty (and the Santa Barbara Foodbank) Food Forward will be holding FRUITSTOCK next Saturday Aug 29th.

Fruitstock?! We have been invited to help glean over 150 ripe orange trees alongside Backyard Bounty folk, with a good portion of the total gleaned fruit going to one of our LA partners, MEND POVERTY.

The property is a lush private estate (Oprah lives just around the bend) in the foothills of Montecito (about 75 minutes north of the SF Valley). We will be picking from about 9am – 3pm, with Food Forward supplying a light lunch, and all participants invited to take part in a potluck BBQ following the pick from about 4-6pm. Pick for a few hours and then go wine tasting, pay your respects at Neverland, stop by the beach (about 1.5 miles away) or even better, stay and pick for the whole event with us.

Either way it is a great opportunity to partner with another anti-hunger organization and help feed So CA’s hungry.

SPACE IS EXTREMELY LIMITED, so please RSVP as soon as you can to ensure a spot – reply with your name, with the number of people in your group, and if you are interested in carpooling. We’ll reply with all the details middle of next week.

Again this for NEXT Saturday AUGUST 29th – hope to see you there!
