THE BIG PICK:
The Big Pick is as a quarterly event where several dozen volunteers gather at a single property or orchard, or at mutliple locations to glean for a full day. The goal is to both gather a large amount of fresh produce for local pantries, while simultaneously bolstering community involvement and service, as well as raising awareness about the need to address urban hunger.
Big picks happen approximately every quarter, and are announced to all Food Forward participants, and virally through our networks on Facebook, Twitter:foodforwardla by SlowFoodLA, and other social networking avenues.
