Since 2010, Food Forward has brokered individual donations of fresh wholesale/consolidated produce – totaling hundreds of thousands of pounds – from the Los Angeles Wholesale Produce Market. Our involvement ensures that 100% of this food is donated free of charge to our growing network of receiving agencies feeding the hungry across Southern California.

During this time we have learned of the dozens of additional produce wholesalers who unnecessarily dump millions of pounds of grade-A fruits and vegetables in the trash annually- a practice Food Forward hopes to curtail as we work with the nation’s second largest depot for wholesale produce in Los Angeles.

If you are a wholesale produce vendor, broker or consolidator at the downtown terminal please contact us so we can tell you more about our highly efficient system of rescuing large and small loads of produce. With one phone call, the donor can have their produced picked up and receive a tax deduction for their contribution.
