Community fruit picking at CSUN!

Last Sunday, Food Forward volunteers (and lots of CSUN students :) were able to harvest 2,350lbs of Valencia Oranges from CSUN’s historic orange grove with 100% of the fruit harvested going to feed the hungry! The fruit was donated to SOVA Community Food and Resource Program, a Jewish family service and we sincerely appreciate all of their support in making the harvesting day a success!

A big thanks to Aimee Lastrella for writing a great article in the Daily Sundial about our fruit harvesting at CSUN’s historic orange grove on Sunday 10/3/10 to help feed SoCal’s hungry!
